Do you like Watermelons?

I love watermelons and find it really funny that there is a 3-day festival dedicated to them in Tujunga - Sunland, starting August 8th.

Featuring Free Watermelon for all, a Watermelon carving display, a Watermelon eating contest with exciting prizes, and a Watermelon seed spitting contest!  Can you break the world record of 68 feet, 91/2 inches, set in Luling, Texas?  

Also, a Watermelon hat decorating contest, and the much anticipated Watermelon Festival Queen contest. International food court, beer and wine gardens, festival marketplace featuring arts and crafts vendors and live musical entertainment and dancing each day.

It’s their 47th annual festival ode to the melon.  $1 admission, benefits charity.
