The San Gabriel Valley K-mart

May 31, 2007

Yup, K-marts still exist, still sell icees, hot pretzels, and clothes for the average Joe.  But the San Gabriel Valley K-mart also has an exciting Asian food aisle. I find myself wandering around this old, faded store a lot because it reminds me of my childhood in Ohio. Target became hip.  K-mart is still unhip as ever.  Love it.

My first attempt at a slide show. I dedicate this to my friends in Spain:

  1. ah yes, Kmart. I have memories of pushing the blue light around with a trail of eager shoppers following me. Scary.
Intrigued by this ethnic food aisle. Wonder if they will actually let you take pics.

  2. I think there’s a Kmart somewhere near where I live because I get flyers in the mail but haven’t actuall *seen* it. Kinda like a mirage or a fabled city in mythology.
